War everywhere...

War in Life

Hey, everyone! Welcome to the month of July!!~ I may be late by three days,  but I just realised that time really flies - I'm now 29 yrs and 1 month old. Eleven more months to reach the big three-zero. :-P Sigh... But at least I'm glad that I'm old enough to think and analyse events that happened in my life. It may be bad at times, but that doesn't mean that our life ends here, rite? Life must go on, and I'll try to make use of the slightest opportunity to amend and adjust what I think may be wrong. I'm trying to fight this "personal war" and move forward to the positive side of life. Enough said...

War in the U.S.

I went to watch War of the Worlds, another alien-related-blockbuster, late last night with a couple of friends at Cathay Cineleisure.  This movie has a superb special effects, plus a "more advanced" aliens' features.  This is yet another talk-of-the-town movie by Steven Spielberg after E.T. and Encounters of the Third Kind - starring aliens, and some well-known human superstars. lol.

Overall, the story sucks. I'm still puzzled by the following while watching the show: Firstly, since it was called war of the worlds, why was it that only the U.S Army fought these aliens and not involving other international fleet of armies? And secondly, the cameo appearance of the alien right at the end of the show.

What I believed to be some kind of ugly-looking-out-of-this-world creatures like the ones featured in other alien movies, this particular one in War of the Worlds proved to be just yet another creature that doesn't have any great impact on me at all.  I still prefer the ugly features of the aliens in the other alien blockbusters starring Sigourney Weaver.

However, I still applaud Spielberg's efforts in portraying the darker side of the visitors from outer space, though. Go and catch the movie if you want to experience the state-of-the-art special effects by Spielberg. You won't regret. ;)

War in Singapore?

Enough said about those bloody aliens. Just wanna touch on something humourous that caught my attention while reading the Sunday Times, today. As you know, the IOC meeting will be held in Singapore from Tuesday till Saturday.  This "economy-booster" meeting is organised here for the first time to pick the hosting nation for the 2012 Olympics.

Many foreign pressmen actually feel that the security provided by Singapore is an overkill.  They could not see the necessity for hundreds of marching soldiers, armoured cars, and helicopters outside Raffles City on Saturday.  However, what they didn't know actually was that these security personnel were only taking part in the NDP rehearsal at the nearby Padang.... Errr...can't catch the ball? Go and figure out yourself.... LOL.
